Zebra Tribe

Before Joraz Kyrem made his famous deal with the Priestesses of the Paps, and quested to create the war zebras, his tribe belonged to the Pure Horse People, revering the traditions of Yu-Kargzant and La-Unguriant. The creation of the new tribe meant a change in these worshipping traditions. No longer being of the Pure Horse People, the mythical link was broken to their former gods and spirits.

Joraz Kyrem had foreseen this, as his studies within the EWF had opened his eyes to the value of other deities not of the traditional pantheon. This was how he found Issaries, and he had shown his followers how the Travelling God could be useful when dealing with foreigners. Most of the Zebra Riders turned to the worship of the Storm Pantheon, and Joraz Kyrem himself was also worshipped as a powerful subcult of Pavis after his apotheosis.

After the survivors of the Pavis cavalry fled the city, the gods Odayla, Humakt, and Yelmalio were those most well-represented amongst the survivors as beneficial to their survival. Since their return to Pavis County, the Cult of Kyrem has been revived and is now worshipped by a quarter of all remaining zebra folk.

Cavalry Rider

Once the Zebra Cavalry was famed throughout Dragon Pass, but after the fall of the original city your people became wanderers with the other nomads, shunned and despised as city-sympathizers. Fortunately, your people survived and many returned to Pavis (led by Olgkarth Arrow-Eye) when Dorasar founded the new city. There are few of your kind currently within the city, since the Pavis Survivors advocated armed resistance against the Lunars and suffer reprisals as do the Orlanthi. You might be with the small but effective Real City Zebra Patrol, or an independent who works guard and guide duty in and around the Old City. You might even be one of the Pavis Survivors, who still cause trouble from their hidden base in the Pavis Rubble.
